All of us are born with a multitude of God given gifts and talents. We have the potential to accomplish what ever we set out do. Often times we encounter some struggles along the way to fulfilling our goals. Struggling is a natural part of life and should be expected along life’s journey. Struggles are life’s inevitable hurtles we must all overcome. Some struggles are greater than others and can seem daunting. We can yield to them and be defeated or press through and gain victory.
I now think of struggles as a form of emotional , mental and spiritual exercise. With every perseverance we become stronger, more refined, better version of ourselves. My greatest struggles often have more to do with overcoming my own negative and self-defeating thoughts. Allowing my emotions to get the best of me only adds another straw to an already over-burdened camel’s back. I often have to start my day by slaying the Dragons of self-doubt and the Demons of procrastination. I learned the hard way that my struggles are made lighter when I begin my day with prayer Being a devout Catholic I often turn to my spiritual brothers and sisters and recruit them as my personal prayer warriors. I also have my priest to turn to.
